About

Welcome! Xin chào! Bonjour!

Hello! I’m Nhi — a recent UC Berkeley grad who double majored in English and Honors in Comparative Literature, with a background in critical writing, editing, and design. I’m passionate about translation, amplifying diverse narratives, and all forms of physical and digital media (most notably literature)!

Along my journey, I’ve had a extremely wide range of experience and I attribute this to my Vietnamese-American heritage. I’m a child of immigrants, a single mother, and I grew up as a first-generation, low-income kid. ❤

Proof of this is exemplary in both my personal and academic life, where I spent my senior year writing my thesis titled: “Queer Memory, Queer Time: An Analysis of Queer Temporality and Nonlinear Narrative in Monique Truong’s The Book of Salt and Ocean Vuong’s On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous”, which was awarded honors by the Comparative Literature department in May 2025. Creatively, I was in editorial board in both GIA Magazine and Vagabond Magazine, physical/digital publications where I honed my writing, editing, and multilingualism to review and check over 50+ pieces yearly. Outside of university, I too have had diverse range of experience from working as a UNIQLO associate to being a Berkeley Art Museum of Pacific Film and Archive (BAMPFA) Visitor Experience Assistant, which sharpened my multitasking and customer service abilities.

Overall, I’m a people person and a storyteller – committed to not only creating and amplifying diverse narratives but creating an inclusive and efficient work environment.

As of 2026, I am currently in search for work within publishing, marketing, and other related fields. Feel free to reach out at hu.yenhi167@gmail.com / nhihuynh@berkeley.edu.
